Transcripts: Hey guys, Tyler here. Welcome to Stack Mod, a game with a very satisfying gameplay loop. First, you open card packs to obtain resources. Then, you combine these resources to get even better resources. And last, you take these resources out on an adventure, capturing other Stackmon, fighting other Stackmon trainers, then to return home and repeat it again. I had a lot of fun playing the demo, so thank you to the devs for sponsoring this one. Go check out Stacksmon on Steam via the link in the description. So, we get to open our first card pack. And I got a rock formation. Well, I can use my trainer to start mining rocks on there. Also got a tree, which I can use my fire type stackmon to start [snorts] harvesting from and a happy berry plant. And once we complete that bar, we get a nice little rock. These rocks are useless, but they can be sold for $1 each, so I'm definitely going to sell that. Got a wood from the tree that also sells for $1. And with $3, we can get a new pack with hopefully new stuff like an epofruit. This can heal my stackmon if [music] needed. I'm going to keep selling stuff and buying more packs. I got a shiny happy berry. And night has fallen. The dayight cycle matters in this game. When you're going out adventuring, it's a lot more dangerous at night, but when we're at home gathering resources, it should be fine. Now, this thing sells for four. I don't think it's any more effective. I think it's just more valuable. So, I'll definitely sell off that. And you know what? I got six bucks. Why don't even try a different pack. Diving deeper. This may provide some more exciting stuff like coal, gem formations. I could mine that for gems. And okay, coal formation to get even more coal. Now, if I remember right, we can also mine wood to get twigs cuz we got that from some of our trees. And I can also take my stack gems [music] and combine them with a wood and someone working on right to get some sort of stack totem. Is that what was it called? Yeah, stack totem which I can use to capture wild stackmon. So I'm going to put that in my backpack. Get a writer for the venture. And day two, new day. So the professor provides a quest. Get three wood. Uh well, right now I only have one. I guess I could solve these twigs and try and get new wood from here. And I've got a a blueprint from the pack which can give me hints towards recipes. If it makes two happy bears and two stack gems, I can revive a stack bon. Okay, that's nice. And I've got three wood. That completes our first quest. Now, inside here, I get another stack totem to capture more wild stack and an AP coupon. So, once I sell this, I get a money and four adventure points. This is the currency I'll be using to go and explore. You have to spend adventure points to well go on adventures. And I'm going to want a lot more. Well, you can get an AP coin from a pack, which I can also sell for an adventure point. New pack. New idea. A furnace. I can melt resources. And I do have two stack gems and two happy berries. So, I'll start making that fun little thing. Got me a revive gem. Just in case one of my stackmon faints, I can revive them. I If I mix both fruits, I can get a fruit salad. I also remember if I take two fruits and a twig, I could make a fruit skewer and that might be more valuable. Yeah, look at this. This heals 50 HP. And I just need to combine 30 HP's worth of fruit. So, that is valuable. Shove that in our backpack. And I also have soil. So, let me grow some crops. I think I'm going to plant my happy berry in the soil and have a stack take care of it. And day three is here. I need three rocks. I've only got one. Got a lot of skewers [music] though, but I'm mining rocks. I'll get there. Okay, there we go. That should do it. What do we get? I get another AP coupon, more adventure points, and more coal. Everyone's [music] favorite. And I believe I could also do the same with he berries. Put them on twigs and start having that come together into a heppy skewer, which only heals 35 HP. That that's certainly better than nothing. And a new day. Um, I got a quest for three heppy berries. Well, that should be very doable. I've got it right here. All right, big reward. More soil and an AP coupon. I think I can exchange this and get ready to head out. Actually, let me get one more revive gem. I can actually store quite a bit in this backpack. There we go. Second revive gem. So, I want to take my good stuff and put my stackmon in the backpack. And I can go out to explore, which costs three, leaving me with 12. And I can go on to my first forest route. Let's go along the route which we find a new zone which has two packs waiting for me with suspicious tall grass, a challenge, a plant scout ready for a battle, and a happy berry. What else do we got? We got a tree, gem formation, fruit, grass. So, what I can do here is challenge the scout. I challenge you to a stackmon battle. He's got a grape and a slug mush. And as time goes by, I spend stack [music] points as you may have seen there. So grapely looks weaker. I'm gonna drag my rollet over and challenge you to a duel. They shall battle. So how it goes is yellow bar slowly fills up. And once it's filled up, they attack each other for their attack amount. Right now I've got more HP, so it seems to be fine, but I can always heal if needed. Uh maybe have a happy skewer at the ready potentially. Oh, we've defeated them. So we got stack essence. Let me put that on GL and level you up to become level one. Gains plus two max HP, plus three attack [music] speed. And I also can make a happy skewer. While I do that, honestly, I'm feeling pretty good. Let's challenge Slug Mush. Should be a little bit trickier though. Like they got more HP, so I'm a little nervous, but I got three heppy skewers at the weight. And yeah, I can I can still take a bit more. I want to get maximum value from this. All right, one more hit and I'm using it. Yeah, there we go. Let's Let's put that on real quick and just heal up to basically full and wipe them out. Looking good. Now we can progress to the next route, which Let me get that key onto that chest. See what some rewards are inside. Got a haste bracelet. Raises the attack speed of the equip stack bond by six. Whoa. Okay, put that on. Let me look at your stats real quick. So, we got your equipment here and the attack speed is up to 22. That's pretty fast, but I also want to give you some more stack essence. Ooh, level two, more HP. More attack power up to eight. Mushrooms will give your stagma 200% haste, which I assume is attack speed for six [music] seconds. Out of curiosity, can I also make that into a skewer? I can. Okay, let me check out this tall grass. See if there's anything interesting here. I also got a lot of epuit. Oh, a wild stackmon. Ooh, yeah, there a haste skewer gives 50% haste for 40 seconds. Okay, I challenge this frog owl. All right, let's do some haste then. If I attack faster for the entire fight, I should be better off. Oh, I did a crit. Yo. Okay, hold on. We're owning this thing. We actually might beat it before the benefits were off. So, let me go into the tall grass. [music] And I also want to make some skewers here. Definitely want to get that going. Yeah, I just wiped out the froggo. So, now we have a timer ticking below it, which thankfully [music] I can pause. If I drag a stack totem over it, I can potentially capture it. Oh, and we got a new Frogo. All right, let's take it on on as well. Yes, capture the froggo. Is it mine? I've captured it. A friendly froggo. Welcome to the party. And we learn a lot about it. It's a It's a neutral [music] type, I see. Okay, very nice. Now, what happens is it actually goes back to my camp just to um you know, keep it uh rested. Honestly, I don't need another froggo. I'll let this one run away. Goodbye. You give me stack essence. I can level up with that. Give or take. Otherwise, I probably just want to go down the forest route. I'm going to make a fruit salad and probably take these stack gems with me. Maybe try to get another revive going. And let's just wait for these to go [music] through. Got a fruit salad. Yummy, yummy. And I've unlocked the new zone. Let's go exploring. Everyone's loaded up. What do we got? Force route 2, which has a bit of branching path. I think I do want to be thorough. Well, that stagmon's pretty [music] powerful. I'm feeling good about grilllet here. See, we can get more tall grass. A pond. I can use it to go fishing. Okay, that's exciting. And another stackmon trainer and blocking vines. Only stack one with a certain skill can cut it. You got this, Git. Nope. Okay, what else is in here? Gems, coals, and trees. Let's see what sort of resources I can get from here first. A fishing rod, twig, and rope. Okay, I can't actually sell it here cuz I'm not home. Uh, but I did get rope and a mushroom colony. That's fun. You know what? Why don't I actually make a little fishing rod here? Some twigs and rope should be pretty good. I go fishing in the pond. I also would like a little mushroom skewer. [music] Okay, got the fishing rod. So, [music] if I put it on the pond with my trainer, I can fish. And actually, let me challenge the harmony scout first so I can fish while the fight goes on. Oh, they're levels three and four. Little scary. Let me just get my healers real quick. So, I'll challenge level three and give myself some haste. All right, this should at least help. We'll see if I need to heal at all. Otherwise, I hope I catch some fish. Okay, I still attack way faster than that. Honestly, my DPS is pretty high, so I feel pretty good about this. Still get a few hits off though. See 30. If I get hit once more, I'll do it. But I think I can wipe that out. Get another little stack essence. Yeah, give me a stack [music] essence. What do we get? Uh, level three. I've unlocked incinerate. Oh, and I fished out a squid poo. I want to capture it. I also probably want to make a stack gem or a stack totem cuz I realize I'm going to start running low on this. Let's fight the squid poo. And as soon as it hits me, I'm given a ton of HP cuz I'm going to drop down. Oh. Oh, I got crit. Oh, that's because I was fighting a watertype stackmon and those things do extra damage to me. Unfortunately, I can't actually use the revive gem on it because I would need to have another stackmon that's still alive. Yeah, water specializes against fire. I'll take my skewers and go. Probably take a fishing rod, too. Oh, and I don't even get any more time to do more things. All right, I'm going to take [music] the stack gems back with me then. Time to run home. And at least it wasn't a complete failure. I brought home one stackmon and I got a reward for that. My frog goes in the tent, but they need a house. You may have noticed this house here is linked to the grill, which by the way is in need of some healing. Can I revive gem here? Yeah, that works. [music] Okay, bring you back. But the idea is this. Every stackmon has exactly one house. I can't put the froggo to work yet until we build it its own house. So, let me check this roar pack. I need bricks and wood, which okay, bricks are made from rocks, coal, and furnace. And I got a brick, brick. Oh, and two wood. Okay, nice. I can even make a house. And I also need four happy berries. So, I want to get on that. Ooh, new idea. Campfire. Four twigs. Two rocks. Uh, this quest just needs two stack gems. Well, I've got that. Let's see what the reward is. Nice. Another coupon. Okay, can go adventuring. Good, good, good. Okay, and the campfire. If I had one, I could use to bake happy berries. And thankfully, with enough time to spare, I got four happy berries. Love that. Another revive gem and coupon. And we got a new house. Okay, that's what I was hoping [music] to see. So, I can take Froggo and put you in the house. And you got to take your time to move in. Get all that stuff around. And Froggo, welcome to the party. You can now start uh collecting wood. And I got four twigs. Show me your reward. Nice. Another stack totem and AP coupon. Very good. All right, day 10. We need four rocks. Thankfully, I've got some rock formations I can work on. Also going to put three twigs with a coal together. Start making a campfire. And here's my campfire. So, I could cook food, but again, I like making skewers. I'd rather start making my way towards a furnace. Let me get these rewards first. What do we got? Got nap coupon and a brick. Once I get a furnace, I can make an iron ingot from iron ore. Okay, so let's at least get making that campfire, or rather that furnace. All right, I've got my furnace. And you know what? I think I want to go out on another adventure this time. Bring two stackmon so if one goes down, I can still revive it. Take me to back to forest two. And okay, looks like I have to rego through the packs, but this should be doable. How about I rechallenge a scout and get Grit back out there? Otherwise, we're going fishing in the pond and nothing can stop me. All right, so I got my ability. Going to launch it. Make him take damage from time to time. Very nice. And yeah, that's going beautifully in the fight. Let's Let's get Froggo out here. Just vibing. If a water stack one comes out, I'll probably just fight it with Froggo. Speaking of, I should probably give you stack essence so you can fight if need be. Level two. Yep. As a water one and immediately challenged Frogo. Okay, you know what? We're going to do two battles at the same time. Frogo versus Squid, which oh, by the way, is going pretty badly. Um, Froggo got just knocked out. So, let's give you some health. Let's see if we can revive Frogo and then maybe get you away. I think Squippoo is just powerful. Okay, I caught another one. I should probably chill and leave it be cuz right now they are absolutely cooking me. Like he's blind some sort of ability that's terrifying me. Let's Let's activate my ability again so at least I can get some good stuff going here. Heal 35. There we go. Keep healing the full. All right, it's almost dead. Right. Right. I'm going to put Frogo back into it. There we go. Okay, got a win. awards me a brick. Lovely. Let's take a look. What's this pouch? I can make my backpack bigger and a haste [music] bracelet. A hastelet without my Froggo. Oh no, Froggo has been down again. Damn it. Okay, I think Squid Boo is just way more powerful than meets the eye. Let's revive my Froggo and try to get him absolutely out of here. Keep feeding stuff to my Grit. It's got to win eventually. It hits her so much. This thing is nuts. All right, Froggo has a haste bracelet. Now Squid Boo is trying to poke at me. Do you mind? All right, finally knocked it out. Let's see if I can get this stacked down. If it's that powerful, I should probably capture it. You know what? Give me a stack essence. Let's see if we can level up. Grit. Well, I captured Squipoo. Went went through a lot to get there. Okay, I want the large pouch. So, no, I don't want to store it. Stack with my trainer. Let's make this bigger. Okay. Oh, so I can store seven of each. I see. That's nice. All right. I'm coming for you, Squippoo. We're getting a win here. I got all my epilis skewers. If uh if it hurts, then it hurts. Okay, that's a lot of damage. Eat that skewer. It just heals me to full. I'm not scared. You should be scared. I crit and dealt six. Wait, how much defense does this thing have? Well, I think it could also just be that it's a water type. Either way, finally get a a final blow. You know what? I'll capture you, too. All right, two squaboos just in case. Actually, I probably should have let that one go. I got sand. Sand going to be applied heat to transform into grass. Okay, have that in the backpack then. All right, let's go check out the tall grass. Little bit of exploring. Who's behind here? A slug mush plant type. Okay. Well, I feel like my fire type should work well. I mean, we're we're incinerating the plant. It attacks slow, but it hits Oh, for not much. Yeah, I am advantaged here. Okay, I'm going to let this run low and then heal 50, but I probably won't even need to do it this fight, but I probably should if it attacks again [music] just so I don't get one shot. Might be worth her doing regardless. Slug mush. Okay, welcome to the gang. I'm going to heal the fool here and check out more grass. Yeah, welcome to the party. I'm going to have to build so many houses. Oh, got a pinpa. One of the trainers had one of those. Let's see how I do here. It seems to be pretty neutral. They're neutral, I think, but they're not that strong, so it should be a nice win. Barely took any damage. You know what? I don't have one of you yet, so I'll take it. More grass. What do we got? Oh, a fire. Ander. Fire versus fire. Well, Pimpaca is mine now. That's nice. How do we do in fire versus fire? All right. They're also tier three. Ooh, that's kind of scary though. They do deal 15. I'm going to have to heal after this next attack. All right, heal me up. There we go. That should be good now. Oh. Oh, it's close. It's close, but we hang in there. Uh, bad news. I am out of stack totems, so I won't be able to take that. But I get some nice little stack essence. Come on. Level four. Level four. More max HP. More building speed. Maybe do some nice bonuses. So, I think it's the scale is still in my favor. Yeah. Yeah. I should have brought more stack totems. You know what? Let's give it to Frogo. All right. I think I actually do want to return [music] to camp, though. I don't have many great items. I get a reward for taming four different stackmon. What do we got? The professor is teaching this grunt how to build a structure. New day. We got new stack quest for two epifruit. Well, that's easy. I had those laying around. More rope and AP coupons. Also, I think I'm due for three epa berries to complete this quest at the last second. Oo, another revive gem. That's huge. I also apprentice wants a campfire. Otherwise, we need more grunt work. Oh, give me a reward pack. Now, he wants a furnace. Well, I have actually got one of those lying around. That's nice. Pack is mostly stuff I've seen except for work. Andy, give it to a trainer or stack to raise it working speed attribute permanently. Okay, let's let's give it to me. I can be I can work harder. Yeah, that's nice. More reward packs. Idea for a garden. Soil, twig, and water. Oh, I have water actually. Yeah, let's let's fetch some of that out. Yeah, hold on. I got soil, twigs, and water. Feed it to a stack to give 30% strength for 20 seconds. Ooh. Okay. All right. So, second campfire. So, I can just stack them, right? For the stack them. Put that to work. And I got a new day. When it eats, recovers 10 HP. So, food is like even better. Okay, I can stun arrival stackmon for 4 seconds. Okay, toadox, you are my new champion. We shall do great things together. Ooh. Okay, I got a new mushroom colony. My second mushroom. We're completing that quest just in time. What do we get? More AP coupons and soils. Oh, apprentice wants a campfire plus one. Well, guess who has a campfire plus one? What do we get? You want storage? I don't have anything close to that. Uh, ooh, three baked mushrooms. Hold up. I have two of those already. And [music] I guess I could get cooking for a third one. All right. Oh, well, we can make storage with wood and rope. Okay, I have one rope, two wood. That's a good start. And I got my third baked mushroom. Get that up here. Give me that. We got haste soup. We get 60% haste for 60 seconds. That sounds really nice. New quest wants three baked epa. Yeah, I don't have much of those. New quest. Three coal. That should be doable. I did get three coal, so let's go. Oh, and more coal if I need it. Probably when I need it first off. Oo, a little iron ore. Okay, so do I put this in the furnace? Looks like I probably also need coal. I need two iron ores in a [music] coal. So, that's actually not enough. Okay, good news. I have three epas, so I can start making my baked epas. Oh, I can release captured [music] stackbon. So, if I untame them, I'll get essence, which might be helpful because I did accidentally get two [music] squid poos. Well, one of them is level four and the other one's level three. So, I'll untame the level three just to undup. And I want the essence. It's a super essence. All right, let's give it to Grit cuz what? You're probably going to evolve at level seven. Is that what's what's going on? No. Well, that's fascinating. All right, I got three epilas. Let's go. Oh, rope. Nice. Just what I was hoping for. Put down that wood and start making a uh storage. Okay. So, I could just like store cards in here such as like baked happy berries, fishing rods, sand, and rope, right? [music] Or is it Oh, is it only one type? Uh, it might be only one type of card. I got my well. Yeah, used with a bucket to gather water. Well, I guess I need a bucket now, which let's see. Now, he wants a greenhouse. Okay, let's see if I can get a bucket from here. That'd be nice. Or just a ton of adventure points. Okay, greenhouse needs glass, soil, water, iron, ingots. Woof. That'll take a bit. New day. Want four wood. That's easy. Okay, I've been making a ton of these lately, even to the point where I'm going to want to see what like taka berry skewers can do for me. Also got another brick so I can make another house. Yeah, let's see what a tacoberry skewer [music] can do. Actually, that sounds fun. He gives plus 40% strength for 40 seconds. Got another house. Who's going in the house this time? Let's do Squipoo since you would be probably good to bring on adventures. Level four. New quest to revive gem. Well, good news. I actually accidentally made an eighth one. So, when stocking that, I guess it works out. What? Upgradeium. A gem used to upgrade your equipment if you give it to specialized blacksmiths. Okay, I don't know who a specialized blacksmith is, but I'm here for it. Okay, I filled up my backpack with pretty much everything. I think it's time for a real adventure. Let's take my toadox with me and my growit. I think Squippoo is a pretty powerful fighter, so I'll take you. And I can only fit three. And if 81 adventure points is not enough, it'll never be enough. Let's go check out this forest park. Along we go. Okay, two new packs and [music] the plant arena. Oh, I see. Oh, you're the plus one. I see. So, I [music] would have to bring the upgradium and like say a garden out here. Egg trader. Give me a plant stack egg. I'll show you a rare stackmon. Food market where I can buy food. Oh, give it to Stackmon to make them evolve. Morphita can evolve into different creatures depending on the item you give it together with the evolution gem. Okay. Punkro now has fine cut. Oh, which I see. That's one of these skills. It actually replaces a fighting skill. Well, not replaces, but takes the place of one. Well, looks like I just need to pack up then. Guess I'm leaving the haste suit behind in favor of this evolution gem. And you know, I'll give Toad do some levels. Oh, come on. Yeah, there we go. Good level up. Wait, should I be taking this metal home with me? Maybe I should. If that's the case, maybe I'll leave behind happy skewers. That seems more valuable. But I've unlocked mountain route one, a new area to explore, but I think I'll explore that next time and just clean things up at camp. And at camp, I get a reward for seven different stackmon being tamed. Excellent. And because I've defeated the plant leader, my stack mount can level up to level 15.
